We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that administers community endowments and gifts to augment the services of the library, extending beyond those services already supported by annual tax-payer-funded budgetary funds. In creating an endowment, the Foundation builds long-term, stable funding opportunities. While we are a separate and independent organization, we coordinate our work with the Library Director and Board of Trustees to determine where private funds may be used for the greatest impact.
We love our library and join its endeavor to provide a diverse, multicultural community with universal access to knowledge. To promote that mission, we raise and administer funds to supplement the West Chicago Public Library’s tax-based budget in order to expand and improve the services and amenities of the library.
The Foundation Board is comprised of volunteer local residents who care about ensuring the future of the library as a vital information resource for the community. We meet every other month at the library on Monday evenings. All our meetings are open to the public.
