About Us

Our Leadership

The Foundation Board is comprised of local residents who care about ensuring the future of the library. We believe the library is a vital resource for the whole community. We meet at the library on the first Monday of the month, evenings at 6:30pm. We meet in September, November, February, April, and June, and participate in library and city events throughout the year. All our meetings are open to the public.

Our Mission

We love our library and join its mission to make library resources known and accessible to everyone. To promote that mission, we raise and administer funds to supplement the West Chicago Public Library’s tax-based budget in order to expand and improve the services and amenities of the library.

Our Long-Term Goal

In creating an endowment, the Foundation seeks to build long-term, stable funding opportunities. While we are a separate and independent 501(c)(3) organization, we coordinate our work with the Library Director and Board of Library Trustees to determine where private funds may be used for the greatest impact.
