Our Leadership
The Foundation Board is comprised of ordinary, local residents like you. We volunteer because we care about ensuring the future of the library as a vital information resource for the community. We meet at the library on the first Tuesday of the month, evenings at 6:30pm. We meet in September, November, February, April, and June, and participate in library and city events throughout the year. All our meetings are open to the public.
Our Mission
We love our library and join its mission to provide a diverse, multicultural community with universal access to knowledge. To promote that mission, we raise and administer funds to supplement the West Chicago Public Library’s tax-based budget in order to expand and improve the services and amenities of the library, beyond those services already supported by the annual taxpayer-funded budget.
Our Long-Term Goal
In creating an endowment, the Foundation seeks to build long-term, stable funding opportunities. While we are a separate and independent 501(c)(3) organization, we coordinate our work with the Library Director and Board of Trustees to determine where private funds may be used for the greatest impact.
